We are the parents of two, soon to be three wonderful children who simply want what we feel is best for them.
Our decision to homeschool has not been made lightly . . . after the thought initially hit us, we investigated, asked for advice from friends who had experience with homeschooling, compared curricula, thought through the reactions from friends and family, etc.
After all that, we are finally pulling the trigger.

On a biographical note, we live in Dallas, TX.
John is forty-one and currently works in the communications department of a bank. Raised in Dallas, he has spent time in Mississippi, Waco, London, and Washington DC. He has three degrees – two (BA, MA) in Philosophy and one (MA) in Political Management. He has worked as everything from salesman to bartender, bouncer, corporate trainer, Deputy Press Secretary on the Hill, campaign manager, and communications consultant. He will handle such subjects as history, government, economics, politics, composition, logic, rhetoric, philosophy . . . the soft skills stuff. He will also teach the kids self-defense and martial arts (no, they are not the same thing).
Gina is thirty-one and currently spends her time raising our children. Raised in San Angelo, TX, she graduated summa cum laude from A&M with a degree in Genetics, and has worked in the Texas State Crime Lab, as a high-school teacher (both private and public), private tutor, and a standardized testing instructor. She will teach the hard skills stuff: biology, physics, chemistry, math, earth science, geology, testing, etc. She is the smarter of the pair.
Nora will turn four in February is now four five and she’s smart as a whip.
Julia turned two three in October and is just as intelligent.
Baby 3 . . . well, we don’t even know the sex of the kid yet but we expect great things from him/her. =)

UPDATE 020909
Our baby to be is a boy. =) His name will be John IV, and we’ll call him Jack, after John’s grandfather.
Jack was born in May and already wears glasses. We pretend he is our little nerd. ;-)
Our homeschooling has begun a bit more in earnest now but we are still feeling out the process. Any tips and suggestions are more than welcome.
